    About Dr. Okafor

Dr. Chika Okafor is an economist and law professor at Northwestern University — and the founder and CEO of Todaydream, a youth development organization. A Chicago Public Schools (CPS) graduate who went on to Stanford, Yale Law School, and a Harvard PhD in economics, he has returned twice to work inside CPS on violence prevention and college persistence, and has worked at McKinsey & Company and the White House. His research on social network discrimination explains why “equal” rules fail to produce equal opportunity — and he writes, teaches, and speaks on what justice demands in response, from voting rights to criminal justice to climate change.
